Before Tuesday 3 May the furthest I'd ridden a bike on the past 20 years was 200m. That was the night before, when I went to pick up a bike that I've borrowed.
So why have you started riding after all this time? The answer to this is 2 part:
When I was first asked "Do you want to take part in Devs on Tour" my immediate response was
of course not that would be stupid
The a week before the deadline for entering the tour I received a text from my cousin saying "I've won a mountain bike, do you want it?". Our Regional Manager from the London office asked again, who's coming on Devs on Tour, I thought wow I've got a bike I could do this and signed up.
Is an annual charity bike, founded about 5 years ago by Raf Źróbecki, Managing Director of Squiz Poland, who is passionate about sports and active lifestyle. The purpose of the ride is to help children in need and integrate people from within Squiz and IT industry in Szczecin (Poland).
The route we shall be cycling is Oder-Neisse Cycle Route, starting in Czech Republic and following the German/Polish Border to Szczecin. Just over 300 miles, ouch.
