This morning I rode to the shops, first Halfords then Sainsburys'.
This morning I went to the shops to get some more cycling supplies:
Yesterday evening, I was speaking to Liam (the nice guy who lent me the bike) about punctures and the need to keep tyres inflated. He explained that he always carried spare inner tube so that he doesn't need to fix a puncture at the side of the road.
The last time I bought an inner tube, 1982, it cost about £8 so I thought they'd be £20-30, turns out due to mass-production and China they're now £2.50.
When I went to leave, I noticed that the back wheel did in fact have a puncture after all. So back into Halfords to get them to fix it and replace the back tyre at the same time.
Then off to Sainsbury's, I came very close to buying too much food to fit into my panniers and had to play Grocery Tetris fortunately when I got home all the eggs were still intact.
